Mens Curly Hair

The very first thing to do is relax. Most men with curly hair, at least have a full head of hair...better than most of us!

Listed below are tips that will allow you to manage your curly hair. Remember it is your "style."

As with everything in life, remember that you can just go with the flow and make the best of it, or straighten it.

The following ideas come from guys that have been there, done that:

Easiest to do: keep it short! It seems like an obvious idea, but many men don't think about it. Keeping you hair short makes you look well groomed, neat and tidy. This is one of the first things that women look for in a man. It is much eaiser to maintain this hairstyle and short men's hairstyles are "in" right now.

If you must go for the long one...I mean the long hair look the you will need to know how to prevent frizzing out and getting that puff look.

First you will need to cut your hair every 4 to six weeks. A good hairstylist will do the job by cutting your hair with differnet layers/angles. This makes the hairstyle lighter and will take out excess volume.

The second thing to not do is blow-dry your hair. Blow drying hair tends to inflate the hairstyle and provides instant puff. You don't have a problem with puff. If you do use a blow dryer, use a low heat, low fan setting to minimize the volume added.

Finnally, another way to cut down volume is to straighten the curls in your hair. A rapid-fix technique involves brushing your hair and while applying a hairspray. This should be done while your hair is still wet. This allows you to straighten the part of your hair where there is too much curl.
